Subaru Repair in Littleton, CO

I’m Charles Carmichael, owner and the only technician at Cars and Locks. I spent over ten years at Groove Subaru and finished there as a Subaru Senior Master Technician. Now I do the same work in my own shop in Littleton, at a lower price than the dealer, and you talk directly to the person working on your car.

Subaru models I work on

Outback, Forester, Crosstrek, Impreza, Legacy, Ascent, WRX, and STI. I have done thousands of repairs and maintenance services on these cars, from oil changes to engine and transmission work.

Head gaskets

The older 2.5L engines, 1996 to 2012, are known for head gasket leaks. I confirm the leak before recommending the job and tell you whether it needs doing now or can be watched.

Cam carrier and upper oil pan leaks

Newer Subaru engines tend to leak oil at the cam carriers. The upper oil pan o-rings fail differently: they don’t leak on the outside, they let oil get into the coolant. I find the actual source first, so you are not paying to fix the wrong part.

CVT service and repair

I handle CVT fluid service, diagnostics, and repair or replacement.

Timing belts

If your Subaru has a timing belt, it is due every 10 years or 105,000 miles, whichever comes first. I replace the belt along with the parts that should be done with it.

AWD and differential service

Front and rear differential service, plus diagnosis of all-wheel-drive problems.

Check engine light and electrical diagnostics

I track the fault down to its cause before any parts are replaced.

Brakes, suspension, and steering

Pads, rotors, control arms, bushings, and the rest of the front and rear end.

Pre-purchase inspections

Buying a used Subaru? I’ll go over it and tell you what it needs before you pay for it.

Subaru keys and fobs

Need a spare key or fob? Call or text with your year and model and I’ll tell you whether I can do it and what it costs.
